Yay feeling better

So 7 days of antibiotics and I feel so much better. Still havnt got much time for scrapping - and missing it so much. As we are trying to get the house ready to put on the market. Tidying, painting, cutting down trees, cleaning cleaning, tiling etc etc etc. Its just never ending. I really hope that out next house doesnt need 'work' but then again we have really enjoyed getting this house to OUR home.

Anyway I got my Kats kits during the week for June and I must say I love them all. I have nearly finished 2 for May after being sick and all the sketches are done - just need to upload this one :-
And being Sunday and the last day to upload for Chippie Week 7 - Rachelles gorgeous "Creating the Metal Look" class I have just uploaded this layout. Yep Chris not that impressed but - It had to be done. Head on over to Scrappin Outback and check out the gallery - AMAZING work in there.

And another thing - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all those gorgeous mothers out there - especially my mum and MIL. I spent my mothers day cleaning the stove - YEP fun fun fun.

Scrapping Outback Week 5

Love Love Love this technique that Jules reintroduced me to. Resist technique.

Here is my example with a gorgeous picture of my Aunty and Uncle taken around 1950. I have been itching to use these prima flowers that I got from The Scrappin Kats. Yum Yum. And those Websters Pages are to die for.

Over being SICK

Well its been 2 weeks and I am starting to feel better. Still coughing a bit but not feeling like I want to die any more.

I still havn't found my MOJO and have not scrapped very much at all lately.

I did have to do my weekly Scrapping Outback Chippie High entry so that I could get the next class.

Once again Miss Sandras class was fantastic and I did enjoy just sitting down for a play. Here is what I came up with for last weeks class (Week 5).

I am going to try to sit down and find my MOJO under the dust in this house tomorrow and see what I can come up with. I still have my DT stuff to do for Kats and Scrap Caps May cybercrop stuff - better find it soon or I will be sacked!!!

kats Stuff

The 1st of the month is always great when the design team at Scrappin Kats get to upload their lattest creations. Love checking out everyone work.

Here is my first layout for Kats April Kits - this one using the gorgeous Sassafras Lass Kit 'Life is Beautiful'. Head on over to the Scrappin Kats shop to get yourself one of these awesome kits. If you upload your layout using the kit by the end of the month you could win a store voucher.
This photo is of my gorgeous hubby and his nephew. We dont get to see him much so this was a very precious day spent at the Melbourne Zoo in January.

Layout 2 is using the beautiful Arabella Basic Grey Kit. Simply divine. Kat just makes such NICE kits at a fantastic price.

This is a photo of my wonderful (yep really) Mother In Law with her prides and joy (her grandchildren).

Here is one of the April sketches over at Kats.

And another oneMy gorgeous galfriend Mels little man just adores Zoe. He wants to do everything she does and follows her like a little puppy so I just had to capture the moment.

With 40 students in 'school' there is bound to be plenty of inspiration in the gallery. Head on over and check it out.

Part 1 - Holographic titles

Part 2 of the class was Faux Opals.

Mumma Bushka

I received these papers and book from Lorrie from Scrapbook Capital. At first I wasnt sure what to do with them but I got my Babushka dolls out for Zoe to play with and started snapping away. Then I thought of a counting book for her - which she loves.

This little book will be heading to Lorrie for her 'fair' next weekend just as soon as I get the layout done that goes with it.

Finished Scrap Caps March CC before the deadline this month

Ok I did it - I got all the challenges done this month.
Hetty's Challenge - I was so pleased with how this turned out. The challenge included using 2 photos (grandparents related) and distressing. I tore, inked and sanded and the Brown Coredinations cardstock I wet and then rubbed with my fingertips.

I just love these photos of Zoe when she was about 5 weeks old, meeting her great Nana Kearney (chris' nana) for the first time. These pics are so precious to us as Nan died not long after these photos.

I have used the gorgeous Websters pages papers (amongst my favs at the moment) - Bee Balm.
And here is the card I completed for Sharon's card challenge.

You should check out the other gorgeous entries in the March CC over at Scrapbook Capital.

I just had to share it.I have also completed 2 more of the fantastic CJ comp layouts for Scrapbook Capital.

Round 6 - quotes
Using the yummy new Rusty Pickle Chocolate Covered Cherries papers. Quote is one of my absolute favs and also noted to be in Kathryns siggie (wink).

and Round 7 - Home Sweet Home
- thanks so much for the inspiration Lorrie. HUGS

Sunday, 8 March 2009

This weekend is the Scrap Capital march cybercrop. It is always so much fun chatting to these ladies on Friday night - even if we have earthquakes and cyclones circling our great country. Hugs to Lorrie after the fright of her life on Friday night with an earthquake in Victoria.
The challenges this month are fantastic - grandparents theme which is great because I have some photos I have wanted to scrap for ages.
My OTP challenge was to make a bookmark - cause all grandparents have soooo much time to read!!!! I have seen several of these all over the net. They are made with a recycled envelope and are so easy.
The cute little bird is stamped using a Kaiser stamp onto Shrink Plastic - which I havnet used for ages!!! It was fun.

I have also completed Julies gorgeous sketch. I incorporated Kylies pink and mauve challenge as the clever chickie is now over on the Design Team for The Scrap Pile (well done sweet). you know 2 birds with 1 stone and all that (hope thats OK).

Still have Hettys to finish - love distressing. And Sharons card challenge. Love these weekends - cause they really make me scrap.

Scrap Cap stuff

Here are a few layouts that I have done recently for Scrap Capital.

Lorrie sent me the new Airy Fairy papers from Kaiser. I am not all that happy with it but thats the way it goes sometimes I guess. I can't do butterflies due to what it significies as a Midwife at work so I didn't add any butterflies from the paper to the layout sorry!!

I also used the Scrpbook Capital Page Maps sketch for February to kill two birds with one stone.

And something I am happy with - I made this clock a while ago using the gorgeous Kaiser Spiro papers that Lorrie sent me.

This was round 2 of the Circle Journal challenge at Scrapbook capital. Once again using the Kaiser papers. This was a really important layout for me as it journals my journey as a midwife. Thanks Lorrie for making me do something I have been meaning to do for ever!

I promise I will pull my finger out and get more of the Circle Journal comp done soon.
And don't forget that next weekend is the March cybercrop at Scrapbook Capital - Grandparents theme.
HUGS

Mooloolaba for the weekend

Last weekend we spent a lovely few days at Mooloolaba at Chris' works holiday units. It was about 150meters from our unit to the beach and was so lovely. Although it did rain a little bit it didn't stop us doing anything.

View from our unit.
We went to Eumundi Markets and Montville, Sunshine Plaza, the beach and fishing.
It was lovely to spend the weekend together.

Catching Up

So I warn you now this post is going to be a long one. I have so much to catch up on.

Today is Valentines day. I got the Packed to the Rafters CD and What happens in Vegas DVD (hinting for a while paid off). This is our 14th Valentines Day together – I cant believe it. Love you babe.
So last weekend saw the first ever Scrapping Kats cybercrop which I was lucky enough to host. The entries in the gallery are amazing – I love them all and will need lots of help picking a winner for the $25 voucher. Head on over to the site and have a look.
Here is a card that I made for Sharons card challenge at Scrapbook capital - go check out the gallery there and dont forget about the cybercrop challenge.
OK so here is an update on the last couple of months.

The girls and I flew to Melbourne on December 12th after Em finished school for the year.
Mum Em and I went to see Wicked the Musical which was awesome.

I did this layout of us heading out with the ScrappinKats January Au Chocolate Kit.

I caught up with my besties in Melbourne too. Liz is looking so taught, trim and terrific. I am so proud of her. She is looking happy again. Leanne is looking great as well. I missed seeing the kids though. I just can’t wait to move back home to spend more time with them. I got to meet the gorgeous gals from the Scapbook Capital form and the lovely Lorrie (owner). We had a lovely dinner and chatted for hours.
On the 21st December we had our Hutchinson Christmas Dinner. It was such a lovely day. My Sisters gorgeous little man, Henry, has grown so much. Rohan and Adeline, Mike and Amy, Ronelle and Dave, Chris and I, mum and dad, Em, Zoe and Henry and Chris’ and his girlfriend Linda had a lovely afternoon.

This layout was done with the gorgeous February ScrappinKats kit.

Here is a layout of my beautiful nephew, Henry. He is such a little man now and just LOVES gumpies car – climbing in and out of it all day – He definitely has Hutchinson blood in his veins.

Mum, Zo, Em and I went into Melbourne for the day to visit the Myer Chrissy windows and the Crown Christmas light show. While we were there we also went to the aquarium to see the gorgeous penguins. Christmas Eve was our wedding anniversary. I woke to gorgeous blue and purple Singapore Orchids.
I did this monochromatic layout to show them off -
We went back to the place we were married 5 years earlier – Ashcome Maze and had lunch on the deck and then walked around the gorgeous gardens drinking champagne. It was so lovely.
I did this gorgeous frame for the January cybercrop. I used the lovely basic Grey Bittersweet range. That evening we went to the local carols with mum and dad. We strolled around Cruden farm and had a lovely picnic.
Christmas morning was spent at mum and dads, opening Santa pressies. I was thoroughly spoilt by mum, dad and Chris with a new lens and camera bag. We had a yummy baked chrissy lunch - thanks mum -
and then we headed to the Firths for dinner - yummy lobster and prawns
and Boxing Day Christmas with Granny, Shane and Kip, Kerrie and Chris and us.

I took the girls away with mum and dad in the motor home to Port Fairy for a few days after Chrissy. It was so nice to walk along the beach and fly kites. Chris, Kerrie and Rohan and Addie joined us for New Years. The rain held off long enough for us to see the street parade, listen to the band and then get back to the motorhome for the fireworks. Here is a layout featuring Em and Ginger at the Port Fairy back beach along the Great Ocean Road. I have used the gorgeous February Scrappin Kats Kit.

We visited the Werribee Zoo and Mansion again. It was awesome. The African concert this time was all drum/percussion. Chris, Kerrie, Chris, the girls and I had a lovely picnic on the grass while the girls danced to the beat and Em made a drum.
I got to see my fabulous cousin Vanessa (and her hubby Terry) and her ratbag (but totally fantastic) boys Az and Jordan. Can you believe it I didn't take any photos!!!! I always love to see them and Em loves 'the cousins' - even if they do fight like cats and dogs.
On January 6th we went to Melbourne Zoo. We were fortunate to be able to take our gorgeous nephew Lachie for the day which was fantastic.
This layout is of Em in the Butterfly house at the Zoo using the gorgeous January Kit – from The Scrappin Kats.
And Zoe in the Butterfly enclosure.
This layout is using the Kaiser papers that I received from Lorrie and following Julie Heards beautiful sketch for the January CC.
We flew home mid January and I headed back to work. I also turned 35 YICKS!!!
On Australia day we went to a 1st Birthday Party for the super cute little Smishie (Hamish). The girls had a great time on the slippery dip water slide.

Here is a layout I did using the Kaiser Love Struck range that Lorrie sent me from Scrapbook Capital.
Zoe has started to swim all by herself. She swims under the water but hasn’t quite learnt to come up for a breath yet. It just looks so darn cute. She loves the pool and gets in any chance she can. Em started senior year at primary school I really can’t believe that my baby is almost in high school. So this year she is in Year 7 – she is enjoying it – I think the social side more than anything else.
On a serious note -
The devastating Victorian bushfires have claimed so many lives and homes. My heart goes out to them. Luckily my family have been safe so far. My grandparents are in Kilmore quite close to the fires but thankfully all is well at the moment. This is the worst natural disaster in Australian History. I just can’t believe that at one end of this gorgeous country there are bushfires and at the other end floods. Mother Nature hey!!! I love this photo circulating at the moment. It really shows the heart renching conditions that these firefighters and animals are going through.
I have had a few of my layouts accepted by Creative Papers so keep an eye out for them in coming issues.

Ok I think I have caught up - told you it was going to be a long one. If you got to the end of this post make sure you drop me a message so I know I didnt bore you to death. I will try to be a better blogger in future!!!!

HUGS
